Original sin is the term for the sin of Adam and Eve, the first sin of humanity. Original sin consisted in breaking God’s commandment about not eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God made the rules and gave individuals a choice. He intended people to want to be with Him of their own free will, not because they were predisposed to be. Adam and Eve were tempted by Satan to gain knowledge, they succumbed to him and followed the lust of the eyes, which led to their death. God expelled people from paradise because he did not want them to share in the tree of life and live forever. In heaven, close to God, there is no place for sin, because God is holy. God created the world. Because of sin, death was brought into the world. People lived shorter and shorter. God warned Adam and Eve that they would die. From then on, everyone is born with corrupted human nature.
A world corrupted by sin
The world today is different from the beginning precisely because of sin. The problem is sin. From the children of Adam and Eve began murder, theft and hatred. After eating the fruit, Adam and Eve began to feel remorse. Every human born has a sinful nature, which manifests itself in the tendency to sin, bad behavior. This is clearly seen in children as young as 3 years old, who from an early age do things that sometimes no one even taught them: they lie, cheat, steal, envy, get angry, etc.
How to be saved?
If someone asks what salvation is, the word can be interpreted in many ways. One of the dangers that Jesus Christ can avert is the corrupt nature of the flesh – the so-called The man who was once known as „our old man”. Jesus Christ came to liberate (save) us from the effects of original sin, that is, the bondage of sin. Jesus was not conceived by a human mother (learn about Mary in the Bible), but by the Holy Spirit. For this reason, He was not born with a corrupt carnal nature! Jesus committed no crime. He didn’t commit crimes, he didn’t murder, he didn’t commit adultery, he didn’t defame and he didn’t lie like the rest of the world. Therefore, death could not subdue him – he had to rise from the dead. We must be reborn, no longer from the man „Adam”, but from God: from Jesus Christ. We can be reborn through biblical baptism in the Name of Jesus Christ (the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).
Baptism gives new life
Baptism gives new life in the Lord Jesus through His Body, the Holy Spirit. The baptized receives a completely new identity as a child of God, a member of the Body of Jesus Christ, an heir to the Kingdom of God. The old man’s debts, curses, and other worries are erased, and nails are nailed to the cross. Through water baptism, the „soul of sin” is destroyed and there is no freedom to sin. You may not be sure if the bible is reliable, but remember that it is the foundation of faith. The apostle Paul wrote in Romans 6:3-8 that the grace of God is enough for us and that we should not rely on our own strength. On the other hand, in the Letter to the Colossians (2:11-13) we read that in baptism the circumcision (shedding) of the sinful body takes place. The sin of the first generation can be considered generational. Each generational sin is diminished for a person who is born again of God. This person is a completely new being in the spiritual realm. This truth must be believed and confessed by faith based on the Word of God, which is the truth and foundation. Baptism does not absolve a person of responsibility for „original sin” because God does not impute past sins to us. Baptism is the spiritual death of the flesh subjected to sin, the corrupt nature caused by the sin of Adam and Eve.
